Look at the people - it looks like Russians were a different race before the Revolution. And look at the USA! A street in San Fransisco is lined with wooden huts. It appears that life was much simpler before the crazy World wars.
A handwritten signature under the boy's pic says: "Son of an alcoholic". What a shame! To get neatly dressed, to wash your face, to wear an important look - only to go down in history like THAT???
